Sgraffito is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting color.
This 'Picture Pendant' is an enameled copper pendant in a sterling silver frame on a 1.5mm sterling silver beaded chain. The background color is a sunny yellow and is fired on first. A thick coat of black enamel is added and then my original flower design and border are scratched through to reveal the bright yellow. The piece is fired again, before a sugar-fired top coat is fired on. Sugar-fired describes the top coat texture, not smooth, it feels a little like sugar!
Each of the Picture Pendants is unique, no two will ever be the same - and every single one is handmade with love.
The pendant is 1.25" long and 5/8" wide.
The pendant ships free in the US, and floats on your choice of a 16", 18" or 20" chain. Perfect for your deep-v summer wear, or over your favorite light knits.

- The sterling silver neckchains we choose for our pendants have been road-tested for years as sturdy and reliable. If you break a chain we can offer a replacement at wholesale cost.
- We wrap and ship carefully, but in rare case your handmade jewelry arrives damaged, we will replace the item with a like item.
- We cannot refund or exchange custom items.
